Mafra is a romantic municipality an hour away from Lisbon, on the west coast of Portugal. It is mostly known for the sumptuous baroque Mafra National Palace, which inspired Portuguese Nobel Prize laureate José Saramago to write his novel Baltasar and Blimunda (the original title being Memorial do Convento). But there is also the Tapada Nacional de Mafra, an enclosed wildlife and game reserve, and the nearby Ericeira’s World Surf Reserve.
So, you are close to the booming capital, near the ocean and our fabulous surf prone beaches, surrounded by Nature and breeding history and literature every step of the way. Such a perfect combo for a wedding in Mafra!
That being said, we now leave you with an Instagram wedding video by Pixel that lets us have a peek at lovely Quinta de Sant’Ana. You can tell that the party went on and on – this group of people had serious fun on that dancefloor! Just take a look at the fabulous flowers that the bride carries, both in her bouquet and her headpiece. Wilderness and composure, all in one. Perfection!
