Eunice and James tied the knot on May 2019, at Quinta de São Gonçalo, in Alenquer, which is located in the countryside surroundings of Lisbon.
The couple lives in England and decided to have the wedding at the bride’s homeland, bringing along their closest friends and relatives and meeting the other half right here.
Their main inspiration for the wedding was their herb garden: «On our first anniversary, we planted lavender in our garden, so we decided to use our ‘work of love’ to create a few gifts for the guests, and decided to make it the main theme for the wedding.»
The ring boxes were their DIY project: «We made the ring boxes a special project. We had to chop a tree in our garden a year before the wedding, so we kept a big chunk of it and dried it next to the fire for months. A few weeks before the wedding, James and his dad transformed the wood into two beautiful wood boxes that contained our wedding rings on the day. We love handmade stuff; even more, when it’s made with love.»
They cut the cake to the sound of Jurassic Park theme song, a surprise arranged by Eunice for her movie-fan husband, and that moment turned out to be one of their favorites throughout the day, «so sweet and perfect, just like a scene of a film.»
Pedro Filipe Fotografia, one of our selected vendors, was their choice to save these precious memories in the form of photos, and we have the highlights to show you: «Apart from the cutting of the cake, we also really enjoyed the half-hour photoshoot with the photographers after the meal: the lighting was perfect, the sun was going down but it was still warm, it was just like if we were alone then. It was the only time we had for ourselves all day.»
